How it works
- Add your picture Upload a JPG, PNG, WebP, BMP or GIF. Bold, flat colours and clear outlines stitch best, and a PNG with a transparent background leaves the background unstitched.
- Pick your machine and hoop Choose your machine and hoop and the design is sized to fit, with its stitch speed and format set.
- Match real threads Every colour is matched to a real spool from your thread brand, with its number. Change any of them.
- Preview and download Watch every stitch sew out on screen, then download the file and copy it to your machine.
Hoops
- Small: 40 x 60 mm (1.6 x 2.4 in)
- Medium: 100 x 100 mm (3.9 x 3.9 in)
- Large: 130 x 180 mm (5.1 x 7.1 in)
- Extra large: 200 x 300 mm (7.9 x 11.8 in)
- Jumbo: 200 x 360 mm (7.9 x 14.2 in)
Getting the file onto the machine
Copy the .PES to a USB stick, plug it into the machine and open it from the embroidery screen's USB memory. Wi-Fi models can also receive designs from Baby Lock's app.
Tips
- Pick the hoop you'll actually sew with: the studio sizes the design to fit it, up to 200 x 360 mm.
- Each colour change moves to the next of the 10 needles, in the order of the thread list. Designs with more than 10 colours need rethreading partway, and the studio tells you when.

Questions
What file format does the Baby Lock Alliance (10 needles) use?
.PES. It also reads .DST, but .PES is its own format.
Can I put a JPG straight onto the Baby Lock Alliance (10 needles)?
No. Embroidery machines sew from stitch files, not pictures. InstaEmbroid turns the JPG into a .PES with every stitch planned, which the machine can open.
How big can a design be?
Up to 200 x 360 mm (7.9 x 14.2 in) in the Jumbo hoop.
